The Power of 'I Am' — The Words That Shape Our Reality

The Power of “I Am” — The Words That Shape Our Reality

There are two of the most powerful words in the human language:

“I Am”

What follows these words quietly shapes our life.

As a Heal Your Life Coach, an avid reader of self-help literature, and the founder of Beautiful Minds, a heart-centered initiative supporting local farmers through home delivery of organic, chemical-free produce in Pune, I have come to deeply experience one universal truth:

Every thought we think and every word we speak creates our life's experiences.

This philosophy, beautifully taught by Louise Hay, applies to every dimension of life—health, wealth, relationships, success, and emotional well-being.

They say:

Be mindful of your thoughts—they are a conversation with the Universe.

The Universe is constantly listening to our thoughts and will give us exactly what we ask for. And I learned this not from theory, but from life itself.

My Personal Journey

In 2016, when my mother passed away from stomach cancer, I entered one of the most difficult phases of my life. Now, when I look back, I remember the negative self-talk that went on in my mind continuously led to negative thoughts and all the aches and pains in my body.

Grief slowly turned into deep depression, and my emotional pain began manifesting physically. My body felt exhausted, sick, heavy, and disconnected.

During that time, when I was looking for positivity I was introduced to a simple yet powerful practice—affirmations. I had never heard the word "affirmations" before, but I am grateful to my quest for knowledge that made me delve more into the subject.

I began repeating a good health affirmation by Louise Hay every single day.

Nothing dramatic changed overnight. But something subtle began shifting. As I repeated the good health affirmation I experienced some kind of an inner awareness—my thoughts became positive, my emotions stabilized and my energy returned.

Within a few months, my health began restoring itself—not through medication alone, but through a conscious change in thought patterns.

That experience transformed my understanding forever and my life changed.

The Identity We Create

The words that follow “I am” become the identity we live into.

There is a hidden habit of negative "I Am" statements and most of us unknowingly live with silent affirmations such as:

  • I am stressed.
  • I am tired.
  • I am unlucky.
  • I am not good enough.

These statements may feel casual, but the subconscious mind treats them as instructions. Over time, they influence our nervous system, emotional responses, energy levels, and even physical health. We rarely realize how deeply old thinking patterns shape our reality.

Rewriting the Inner Dialogue

But in life, we always have a choice. We could rewrite the inner dialogue.

When we consciously choose positive affirmations we activate the powerful mind-body connection. Positive affirmations are not denial of reality—they are direction of energy.

Science increasingly acknowledges what ancient wisdom always knew: thoughts influence biology, emotions influence immunity, and belief influences behaviour.

Examples of positive “I am” statements:

  • ✔ I am healthy.
  • ✔ I am calm.
  • ✔ I am capable.
  • ✔ I am abundant.
  • ✔ I am supported.

Healing Is Holistic

Through my journey as a Heal Your Life Coach and entrepreneur, I have come to see that true well-being is never one-dimensional.

Healing is holistic and it happens when we combine:

  • Positive self-talk
  • Mindful nutrition
  • Emotional awareness
  • Simple daily rituals
  • Conscious breathing
  • Gratitude

This philosophy also inspired Beautiful Minds—where nourishment is not just emotional or spiritual, but physical too. Supporting local farmers and delivering fresh, chemical-free food to households is my way of aligning inner wellness with outer living.

Because when we say “I am” internally, it must also reflect in how we nourish our bodies and communities.

Most of us are in an old habit of negative thinking and we do not realize the damage those negative thoughts have inflicted upon us. It takes time for our old thinking patterns to change.

So, consciously try replacing the negative “I am” with a positive “I am” and repeat the positive statements daily.

A Simple Practice You Could Start Today

Pause for a moment and ask yourself:

What do I usually say after “I am”?
Negative Positive
I am sick. I am healing.
I am stressed. I am calm and balanced.
I am not good enough. I love and accept myself exactly as I am.

Consistency matters more than perfection because your mind listens, your body responds and your life follows.

Final Thoughts

The power of “I Am” lies in awareness.

When we change our words, we change our thoughts. When we change our thoughts, we change our energy. And when energy changes—life begins to transform.

We do not become what we want. We become what we repeatedly declare ourselves to be.

What are you choosing to become today?
